Was fortunate today to be given a morale boost as we were called-up to the flight deck for the before start-up checks on the Airbus A330 with Capt. Hans & Capt. Vijay. It was a great eye opener for us who are working so hard just to fly an Airbus for the Airline. More pics inside my Picasa.

Flew my first IFR Navigation flight today from Gold Coast to Grafton, did an NDB Approach and came back to Coolangatta Airport — to fly in at the bare legal minimums! Didn’t have to wear the IFR hood as we were in IMC 99% of the time!!

To kick-off my final month here on the goldcoast, Daphne came down so we all went down to Byron Bay for the day just to pay our respects to both the lighthouse & Fish Mongers! Boris & Han loved it too, later that night we had dinner at Saigon! Mmmm

Filed my first IFR flight plan today! What I am wearing over my head is not a hat, but its a “IFR hood”. It actually blocks me from looking outside and just looking ONLY at the instruments. Its called flying by numbers, and i LOVE it !!! Thanks to Thomas Yang for all the photos mate…

Logged my first Instrument Approach today in the AL200 with the Academy’s Chief Flying Instructor Michelle K - Thanks for the guidance Chief! Did an NDB Approach into Runway 14 at the Gold Coast.
I have until the end of March to get done with this and head back home on AirAsia X to get the final bits of my ATPLs done!

Thanks to Dave Bashir, former Chief Pilot but now full-time Helicopter Rescue Pilot for CareFlight Australia, we had a full on operations tour! Loved the Helis and the Jet! Amazing to see how these guys get to the scene of an accident in just a few minutes!
Will get more updated when Bindiya, Boris, Amir Kia & Michael Sat send me their pictures!

Am starting to get the hang with Asymmetric flying. Had great fun in the sky today with Tim Munton. Will be doing more tomorrow and through the weekend. Probably get my Multi work done in the next week or so then I can get into the real Instrument Flying! More pics on my PICASA, click on the pic above! Johanfaridkhairuddin.com.
